Minimisation of residues: ecodecision for the sustainability.

The process of saline dreg minimisation of IDALSA has been object of analysis and oral exhibition in CHANIA 2008. The process of saline dreg minimisation of IDALSA has been object of analysis and oral exhibition in CHANIA 2008. The Scientific Committee selected the work: “RECYCLING AND VALORISATION OF THE SALT CAKE GENERATED AT SECONDARY ALUMINIUM MELTING PROCESSES” whose authors are S.A. Korili, S. Albeniz and A. Gil, and that was presented/displayed by Professor A. Gil of the UPNA that also had presented/displayed the titled work “Management of the salt cake generated AT secondary disposal aluminium melting plants by in a controlled landfill”.

CHANIA 2008 is the First Congress the International on Management of Dangerous Residues celebrated in Chania, Greece, (http://www.hwm1.tuc.gr). 
 Is the first Conference the International on the management of dangerous residues that includes oral presentations and special factories for work and discussion on the controversial aspects main of the management of dangerous residues and their present treatment.


It has surprised the numerous presence of scientists, technicians and professionals of multiple countries interested in the field of the management of dangerous residues and in the one to interchange practical experiences applied by different companies. 
 A few works have been selected for their presentation and discussion of more than 320 sent Work’s Documents from 56 different countries. The Scientific Committee developed on this base a program of 165 oral presentations.

It agrees to stand out that the selection of the work where the experience takes shelter of IDALSA in the process of minimisation of saline dregs must to that the Scientific Committee considered the quality of the document, the relevance of the subject, the nature of the document (study of case, preliminary work, work, conceptual, practical experiences), the specificity of the subject and the newness scientific.
